The Golden Scarab
In his book, “Synchronicity”, Carl Jung told a peculiar story about a woman he treated. She had recurring dreams, in which she received a golden scarab. During a session with her, a flying insect knocked against the window-pane; Jung turned around and caught it mid-air. The insect was a Cetonia aurata (rose-chafer), the nearest analogy to golden scarab.
