Alton Glenn Miller was a popular swing musician in the 1940’s. Like many celebrities during the war, Miller regularly traveled to different areas to entertain US troops. On December 15, 1944, one day before German launched a massive offensive through the Ardennes forest, Miller flew from England to France in inclement weather. His plane crashed over the channel and he might be a victim to a friendly fire.
