1. Alan Turing


Alan Mathison Turing was a British mathematician who developed concepts that led to today’s modern computers; He built the Turing machine which incorporates modern programming methods. During the Second World War, Turing directed researches on ways to break Nazi’s secret codes. When the war ended, he worked on the development of computers and developed Turing Test.
Persecuted for his sexual orientation, Turing became severely depressed. On 1954, a cleaner found Turing dead on the bed with a half-eaten apple lay beside him. Although, no one tested the apple, he was widely believed to ingest a fatal dose of cyanide.
