7. Jimmy Boyd
Jimmy Boyd was an American actor and singer from McComb, Mississippi. Boyd came from a poor musical family and he was lucky to have a successful gig at a local country music festival. He recorded a popular song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” when he was 12 with Columbia Records. In the first week alone, the album was sold 2.5 million copies although the song was initially condemned by the Catholic Church, because it intentionally linked a religious holiday with sex. During his career, Boyd had sold 60 million copies.
