9. Tanya Tucker
Tanya Denis Tucker was an American country singer. She was only 13 when she released Delta Dawn. Mel Tillis was impressed by her talent and Tanya was invited to sing on the stage. She moved to Las Vegas to give regular concerts and she got the attention of Dolores Fuller who brought her to Billi Sherril from the CBS Records. Sherril was so impressed with Tanya that she immediately was signed to Columbia Records.
Delta Dawn was released in fall 1972 and it became an instant hit. The song only appeared at the bottom position of pop charts, but placed in sixth place on the country music chart.
