9. Ian Curtis
Ian Kevin Curtis was the lead singer of Joy Division, who suffered from severe depression and epilepsy. His songwriting is typically filled with imagery of alienation, emptiness and desolation. Although his speaking voice is in the tenor range, Curtis sang in a bass baritone voice. He was predominantly a lead singer, Curtis also played guitar in a number of songs. In May 1980, his wife discovered him dead, hanging on kitchen washing line.
