1. Dyatlov Pass Incident
In 1959 a group of hikers set off into a mountain pass on Kholat Syakhl in Russia. All nine of them died. With no witnesses there has been much speculation but it seems that they all ripped their way out of their tents, stumbled into the snow half-dressed and most died from the -30 degree cold. Two of them had broken ribs and two had fractured skulls. The weirdest death was the hiker who’d had her tongue ripped out. All of their clothes showed signs of radiation, too.
