10. Tohoko Earthquake, Japan
Tohoko earthquake with a magnitude 9.0 is reported to be the worst and the largest earthquake that struck Japan on March 11th, killing approximately 16000 people. Thousands of homes and coastal communities were wiped out by twenty-three feet tsunami.
