8. Typhoon in Washi, Philippines
A tropical storm with the speed of 45-55 miles per hour struck Mindanao in Southern Philippines on December 19th. About 167,000 people were affected by it. Soon after it was followed by heavy down pour which resulted in flashy floods and landslides. A total of 10,345 houses were devastated, thousands of people got displaced and approximately 1500 people lost their lives.
