1. The Olympic Flag
The Olympic Flag was designed by Pierre de Coubertin in the year 1914 but it was flown for the first time in 1920. The flag shows five differently colored, interconnected rings on a white background. These interconnected rings symbolize the five important continents. The interconnection of the rings signifies the unity and friendship that these games usher. The colors of the rings are such that at least one of them exists on the flag of each of the countries of the world.
