6. The Winter Games
While the Olympic Games have always been a summer affair, the concept of Winter Olympic Games began in 1924 when the first Winter Olympic Games were held. They were then held a few months earlier and were hosted in a different city than the summer games. However, since 1994, the Winter Olympic Games have been held two years apart than the summer games.
