5. The Cancelled Games
While the Olympic Games have always been held at a gap of four years, they had to be cancelled twice due to the two World wars. The first of the Olympic Games were cancelled in 1916 due to the First World War while the second time the games were cancelled was in the year 1940 and 1944 due to the Second World War.
