3. Olympic Medals
What the participants are fighting for at the Olympic Games are the medals. The medals for each Olympic Games are designed and made by the hosting nation. The medals have to be made as per the approved thickness of 3 millimeters with a diameter of 60 millimeters. The gold and silver medals are 92.5 percent silver but the gold medal is plated with six grams of gold. Till 1912, gold medals were made entirely of gold but the practice was discontinued later.
