9. Iran Air Flight, 1988
This incident was not any accident but a military incident in which an Iranian Airbus was shot down by the U.S. military helicopter. The pilots of the U.S. helicopter had thought the plane to be a Tomcat fighter and sensing danger had shot it. The time of the accident was during the Iran-Iraq war and therefore, the accident was considered an international crime that had been committed intentionally. 290 passengers and crew members died in the plane accident.
