There’s a ghost of a nun that walks the ‘nun-walk’ around the rectory — which was built in 1863 on the site of an ancient monastery. The story goes that she fell for a monk from Borley monastery and caused huge outrage.
They tried to elope but were caught. The monk was executed and the nun bricked up in the cellar of the monastery. Because of this, it’s said her mournful spirit still haunts that ancient site.
