4. Angelo Buono and Kenneth Bianchi
In late 1970’s several women were found killed in Los Angeles area. Until the perpetrators of the offenses were discovered, suspects were named the “Hillside Strangler”. After a series of investigations, police charged Angelo Buono and Kenneth Bianchi with the crime. Bianchi was arrested after in Bellingham, Washington and convicted for murdering a couple of victims. Bianchi initially attempted to claim personality disorder, but a psychologist, Dr. Martin Orne found that he faked the mental illness. Buono’s case was largely based on Bianchi’s testimony and his trial became the longest in American legal history.
