2. Reuben Sandwich
No one knows which Reuben created this sandwich but to really be called a Reuben it all has to be homemade, even the sauce. It’s sauerkraut, corned beef (sometimes substituted with pastrami), Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. It’s all then grilled between two thick slices of rye bread.
A number of variants exist. There’s the Rachel that replaces the corned beef with pastrami and includes coleslaw instead of sauerkraut. There are also Reuben egg rolls that replace the bread with a deep fried egg roll wrapping.
