The waters surrounding Vancouver are home to more than 400 Orcas. They are visible between May and September. Visitors can watch them from land, whale watch boat, cruise ship and ferry. About 40-50 gray whales populate the waters around Vancouver Island in summer. During March and April several more pass through here as part of their northward migration.
