Ford Figo Aspire Launch Date Revealed By AutoPortal India

Figo Aspire is Ford India’s new car. Figo Aspire has been developed keeping the requirements of Indian customers in mind such as good design, high fuel efficiency and value for money while meeting Ford’s global standards. The first ever sub-compact sedan from Ford India was launched on the 12th of August, 2015 at a starting price of Rs. 4.89 lakh.

The vehicle had made its debut as the Figo concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. With several segment-first features such as 6 airbags, 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, leather seats, the Aspire becomes the first car in its league to offer driver and front-passenger airbags standard across all variants.

Under the hood, the Ford Figo Aspire is available with three engine options: a 1.2-liter Ti-VCT petrol, a 1.5-liter TDCi diesel, and a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol engine. The 1.2-liter Ti-VCT petrol develops 88 PS and 112 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-liter TDCi delivers 100 PS and 215 Nm of torque through a 5-speed manual transmission as well. A 6-speed Powershift DCT will be exclusively available on a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol, which outputs 112 PS and 136 Nm of torque. The ARAI-rated fuel efficiency figures for the engines stand at 18.16 kmpl for the 1.2-liter petrol, 17 kmpl for the 1.5-petrol AT, and 25.83 kmpl for the 1.5-liter diesel.

The standard features include fabric seat upholstery,  adjustable front & rear headrests,  12v power point at front, chrome head-lamp bezel, dual tone (charcoal black and light oak) interior, manual ac, tilt steering, front power windows, guide me home headlamps, keyless entry,  and engine immobliser for lower trims. The mid and higher trims have electrically-foldable ORVMs, height adjustable front seat-belts, rear defogger, electronic stability program (ESP), traction control system (TCS), hill launch assist (HLA) and boot lamp.

The Figo Aspire is available in 4 trim levels – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium +. The Ford Figo Aspire comes with seven colour options – Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey.

The Aspire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1,525 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,491 mm and 174 mm of ground clearance. Despite being a sub-4 metre sedan, the Figo Aspire offers a 359 litre of boot space.

It enters a highly competitive segment that comprise of the Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest. Ford will also export the Figo Aspire to compete globally. After the Figo Aspire, Harris said Ford India will launch the Figo hatch around the festival season, to be followed by a new SUV Endeavour early next year.
