For all lovers of electronic music who don’t know, D-Edge is the place to go. The club began its love affair with minimal techno after a quick succession of gigs by Richie Hawtin and Ellen Allien—and it has never looked back.
Across a large, dark rectangle of a room that looks like something out of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, bars of red, yellow, green and blue light pulsate in regular shapes at rhythmic intervals. The overall effect is about as mind-bending as the music. Did the floor just become the ceiling… Or the wall?
Show up at about 3:00 to be in pole position for a long, sweaty night of stupefying beats.
