The Lodge is a carousel of revolving decór and clothes. Spun around the concept of nomadic chic, the store pawns everything from the sundry items on its shelves to its couches, leaving the impression of a giant close-out sale. Clothes are even flung into flight trunks, the most popular non-clothing sale items.
Thankfully, business is firmly rooted on 24 rue de Poitou. Owners Ema and Hugo envision themselves as “incubators” of new or small labels uncommon in Paris, like handbags from Canadian leather geniuses M0851, jewelry from Belgium label Chine and French designer Annabel Winship.
Meanwhile, in-house label Maison Kahut—designed around the fictional adventures of a modern princess—borrows heavily from history, yielding such items as a Victorian-silhouette jacket festooned with 19th-century-inspired buttons. Despite the transient concept, the Lodge and Maison Kahut are here to stay.
