Just think of the Maison Clarté as a luxury spa, for clothing. At least that is how the owners want you to feel. Couched on the corner of a quiet street in the Marais, the store resembles the abode of a classically elegant and modern but trend-conscious woman.

“Clarté,” clarity or lucidity in French, was applied to the unobtrusive and simple design of the store. The walls are covered with taupe drapes, plexiglass stands replace the standard rolling rack and 1950s Art Deco antiques are scattered about. The store mixes classic looks from high end brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Piazza Sempione, with of-the-moment clothes and accessories from Marc Jacobs, Chlo, and Paul & Joe.
