While most everything in Paris has a storied past, Café de Flore has a particularly celebrity-filled one. The most famous cafe in all of Paris (perhaps the world, even), Café de Flore has been the stomping grounds for many an intellectual from Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir to Pablo Picasso and Albert Camus.
The Art Deco interior has soaked up the place’s history and is weathered, but eternally chic. While the intellectual scenesters may have moved elsewhere—photo-snapping tourists taking their place—the cafe still has a charm of its own.
Don’t be surprised by the standard fare and steep prices (a club sandwich on toast costs a shocking 18 Euros)—somebody’s got to pay the rent.
