Located on Sunset Boulevard, Silverlake Lounge is a small indie-rock venue that boasts an impressive roster of top music names from the Rapture to Rufus Wainwright. The club’s promoter, Scott Sterling, upgraded the former dive bar into a popular hotspot for music aficionados in 1997. Though the lounge occasionally doubles as a comedy lounge, music remains its main allure. The Silverlake Lounge’s small and intimate setting boasts a stellar sound system and the acoustics cater well to its musicians. Its former dive bar undercurrent still lingers and imbues the lounge with a seedy charm, which is often amiss at other swanky LA music lounges.
