Russell Norman’s winning combination of New York Italian with it’s salvaged furniture, warm colours, exposed brick and tapas style plates has been replicated for a forth time, in Covent Garden with Da Polpo. With the ever-popular and achingly hip Polpo, Polpetto and Spuntino always rammed with queues, Da Polpo seats more and is the tourist and family-friendly of the group.
With the New York edginess taken down a notch, expect a brighter, friendlier and more approachable experience with a familiar menu of chicheti’s, bianca pizzettas and not-to-be-missed meatballs (go for the classic). Great soundtrack, wine selection and tattooed staff still a-plenty, it’s New York hip with the volume turned down.
