Cami de Balafia Keep it a secret

On the five-mile slice of country road joining Ibiza proper with San Juan village in the north is a sweet waylay for securing superior-quality victuals.

The eatery is a well-preserved secret located on the eponymous Cami de Balafia street. This family-operated nook beckons visitors with open fire-prepared meats singed with the fine flavors of olive, carob and almond tree wood. Gorgeous, marbled slabs are slow-cooked for hours so that the flesh fairly falls off the bone, inspiring an animal appetite with diners who might be tempted to discard their forks and knives in favor of fingers, all the better for licking the savory remains.
