One of the few remaining independent venues in Copenhagen resisting the dark side of commercialism, Gloria is a sparkling cinematic gem. It’s centrally located right by Rådhuspladsen, next to Palace Hotel.
The one-screen, 108-seat theater makes up for its snug premises with a little bar, offering quality candy and the chance to relax with a glass of wine before your film starts. An adjoining little foyer provides further seating area and a slew of magazines to stock up on any flailing film trivia—not that Gloria Biograf’s staff, reassuringly well-informed and chirpingly friendly, aren’t up for the task themselves.
While the repertoire of films trot the typical high-quality art house and independent film territory, Gloria often hosts special events like CPH:DOX, Future Shorts and other film-related spectacles, including rental for private screenings.
