The Kimberley hotel, on the corner of Roeland and Buitekant street, has recently been restored . This Cape Town landmark was built in 1895, and was the starting point for horse-drawn carriages leaving Cape Town for the actual diamond town of Kimberley. The hotel boasts a conference centre for up to 60 delegates, a coffee shop with internet access, as well as the famous old bar with original woodwork.
A gathering place for the art crowd, you could bump into anyone at the downstairs bar, from itenerant stockbrokers to the hottest local musicians. It’s slightly seedy air adds to the atmosphere.
