The modern industrial interior of TinTin is a fitting compliment to inventive international cuisine served up by head chef Henning Brauer. Designed by Berlin-based architecture and design firm Karhard (the team behind Panorama Bar’s epic dance halls) and nestled quietly on the north bank of Kreuzberg’s Landwehrkanal, the restaurant and bar offers an ever-changing seasonal menu with specialties like beef Wellington and tomato consommé—not to mention killer blackberry margaritas.
Spread across an open concrete floor-plan split by a hammered metal horseshoe-shaped bar, diners eat under the glow of dozens of bare light bulbs suspended from the ceiling, chandelier-style by thick black cords. Owners Cze Salome and Nalan Kucadag also rent the space out for parties and events and open a large patio out front in warmer months, adding a breakfast menu and extend the operating hours. “It’s important to be flexible,” Salome says.
