Hamy is pretty hyped amongst the fast food lovers around Hermannplatz. During peak hours you’ll find it a battle for a seat—especially outside on the sunny benches—but annoying as it is to have to wait and put up with the hoards of people crammed inside this pint-sized eatery, it’s popular for very good reason.
Whilst there is an extensive menu covering everything from soups to fragrant teas, it’s the Tagesmenu that is the easy option here. It always costs 4,90€, it changes slightly every day and you can bet that for the price you won’t find better Vietnamese anywhere else in the city.
The potent, yet fragrantly spiced sauces that coat the shredded chicken are somehow markedly better than the stereotypically bland gloops that these kinds of budget restaurants can dish out. With perfect portion sizes, soft fluffy rice and a mango lassie to wash it down, you really can’t go wrong. The real deal breaker, though, is that once you’ve placed your order your food will be in front of you within two minutes, that we guarantee.
For us, it’s one of the best fast food places in a district where you’re really spoiled for choice. The food is delicious, and for such a price what more can you ask for?
