Kreuzberg’s gritty Görlitzer Park is the last place you’d expect to enjoy a nice round of golf, but the Isa Mitz café plays host to a unique version of the gentleman’s game. Down in the basement is an 18-hole miniature golf course painted in lurid flourescents, illuminated by Ultra Violet lights.

Local blacklight collective Sinneswandeln have given the family favourite a surreal twist, creating five themed rooms decorated with murals and props that take their art far beyond its usual context. Players tackle the minigolf obstacles while taking in graphic visuals inspired by cyberpunk, sci-fi book cover art, the deep sea and a park oddly reminiscent of Berlin’s own Tiergarten.

Booking (by telephone only) is highly advisable, as Schwarzlicht quickly fills up on evenings, weekends and school holidays, and it’s worthwhile checking that you won’t be stuck behind a classroom of kids while you try to negotiate the trippy course.
