Saying it’s Italian is not enough to describe the style of this restaurant. Venetian is a much more accurate term for characterizing Xe Mei. On the foothill of Montjiuc and over Poble Sec rests a cozy and busy dining room as well as terrace tables from which to enjoy freshly prepared homemade pastas and desserts. The intimate setting and rich flavors from the exposed kitchen are help transport diners to the lovely city of canals, at least in spirit.
Mauri, the man behind the operation leading a friendly staff, helps provide patrons an authentic experience that the taste buds are sure to remember. Prices are a little elevated but considering the cuisine, no one’s complaining. We recommend the “Spaghetti al nero di seppia.”
