7 Portes (7 doors) has been in business since 1836, serving over four generations of loyal patrons. Marble floors, endless mirrors and massive portions of great Catalan food such as herring with onions and potatoes, white bean and sausage stew, fresh fish and any kind of paella imaginable all contribute to the stellar dining experience found in a place deemed a national monument.
The restaurant is housed in the “Pòrtics d’en Xifré”, the first place in Barcelona where running water was installed. The historic setting and supreme caliber of cuisine are enhanced by a well stocked wine cellar featuring the best in Spanish wines and cava (sparkling wine).
Reservations recommended. Business dressy.
