Igualada Cemetery, designed by architects Enric Miralles and Carme Pinós, is one of the most poetic works of 20th-century Catalan architecture.

A chief concern of Miralles and Pinós when designing the space was not just to create the cemetery in the traditional sense of a final resting ground, but to explore and accept ideas regarding the cycle of life, and thus enable a link between the past, the present and the future.

Miralles, who died in the year 2000, is buried in one of the tombs here.
