When Jim Morrison asked for directions to the next whiskey bar, directing him here might’ve just done the trick. The L&B offers 850 different kinds of whiskey, Scotch, malt and usquebea from Scotland, Ireland, Canada, America and even Japan, so you can work on a truly globetrotting hangover.
The bartenders tend to have very good taste in tunes, but they’re purists when it comes to their firewater, so don’t be surprised when you get a dirty look for ordering bourbon or when you request ice cubes. They might eventually comply, but you’ll lose street cred. The towering, steep and frighteningly dangerous stairs leading to the facilities upstairs might deter you from becoming completely rat-arsed.
Besides whiskey, there are a number of other beverages available and the snack selection is a pleasant change compared to the usual pub fare. The L&B is also home to whiskey tasting sessions at regular intervals and was recently nominated for the “Best Whiskey Bar” award by Whiskey Magazine. Just so you know.
