Historic Town of Ouro Preto
The name Oura Preto means ‘Black Gold’ and has been very rightly used to label this historic town of 17th century Brazil. It became Brazil’s central point during its golden age i.e. the 18th century. Even though there was a horrendous decline in the country’s golden mines in the 19th century, the city remains an excellent evidence for its exceptional architectural talent and unimaginable prosperity.
