10. San Gimignano
The first walls of San Gimignano were built in 998 BC centering a famous parish of those times. Within no time, the city grew wider in popularity as a central business hub on the Francigena Way. As the city grew in its prosperity, 72 towers were ordered to be raised in the area one of which called Rognosa outdid all the rest by virtue of its magnificence and unimaginable height.
9. Portovenere
The landscape between the Portovenere and Cinque Terre is a beautiful coast having not only scenic but cultural value as well. The landscape holds importance due to the development of small towns amidst the uneven and rugged terrain, over the past millennium. It is the perfect example of how man and nature can live together harmoniously.
