8. Empress of Ireland
Reaching a death toll of 1,012 people, Empress of Ireland is one of the most memorable shipwrecks in the history. There were only 465 recorded survivors from the accident. Because of the heavy fog, the Norwegian collier Storstad had crashed at the starboard side of the Empress of Ireland which sank the boat in just 14 minutes.
