8. The Denver Mint
A free guided tour of one of the active mints in the United States. This is incredibly fun for kids, most teachers will give extra credit if they write a report about it. Besides the boring stuff, there are a lot of cool things to learn about currency. Inside the building, they show you retired stamps, the process in which money is made, and a few steps that are taken to ensure that there is no hitch in the system. Money laundering is a federal crime, here too they will explain the consequence.
