6. Throne of Blood (1957)
This Japanese film takes the plot of Macbeth and puts it into feudal Japan. Generals Miki and Washizu, after defeating enemies in battle, return to Lord Tsuzuki’s castle. They meet a spirit who tells their future as they head through the forest. The spirit tells them that today Washizu will be named master of the North Castle and Miki will command Fort One. The spirit also says that Washizu will eventually become Lord of Forest Castle, and finally she tells Miki that his son will become lord of the castle one day.
