4. Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo (53 victims)
Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo was a mass murderer from Soviet Union. Also known as the “Butcher of Rostov”, he enjoyed social influence as member of a communist organization, which allowed Chikatilo to commit heinous crime with impunity. Chikatilo suffered sexual dysfunction problem and actively hunted potential victims in a local train station. Four plain-clothed police officers arrested Chikatilo in 1990, when he was searching for another victim. The Russian court sentenced him to death penalty for 53 murder cases with one gunshot behind the right ear.
