8. Wayne Williams (2 to 30 victims)
Wayne Williams is a serial killer who was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering two African-American boys in Atlanta Georgia, but he was widely believed responsible for the disappearance of other 28 children in the same area. Williams contended throughout the time that Ku Klux Klan has involvement in these murders and he was framed by authorities to prevent racial war in Atlanta. The rock band, Deep Purple released the song “Wrong Man” in 2005 as a tribute to Wayne Williams
