5. River Phoenix
River Phoenix or River Jude Bottom was an American actor. Phoenix appeared on various TV series and his first notable film debut was in a 1986 film, “Stand By Me”, which was based on Stephen King’s short story. River then played a more mature character in Running on Empty (1988), which earned him an Oscar nomination for the Best Actor due to his outstanding performance. He also played as a gay prostitute who searched for his mother in My Own Private Idaho (1991), which earned him an award in the Venice Film Festival.
On 1993, Phoenix was found dead of drug overdose outside a nightclub in Hollywood. He died at 23.
