1. Stendhal Syndrome
Some people who are exposed to art may experience hallucinations, confusion, dizziness and rapid heartbeat; especially when the artwork is subjectively considered “very impressive”. In 19th century, Stendhal, a French author, recorded his experienced during a trip to numerous Italian cities in a book. The book was analyzed by psychiatrists in 1979 and they found similarities with hundreds of cases among tourists that visited Italy.
