4. The Great Wall of China
The Chinese name of The Great Wall of China is “Wan-Li Qang-Qeng” and it is approximately 5,000 km long and covers most of the Northern China. It was built be the first emperor of China called Qin Shi Huangdi. Built about 2,000 years before, this great structure is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. From the vast stretch of 8,851.8 km, the actual wall covers only 6,259.6 km. The rest of the wall covers, 359.7 km of trenches, 2,232.5 km with natural barriers such as rivers and hills. In order to stop the nuisance of nomadic groups in Northern China, the Ming Dynasty built this wall. The construction of the wall was started in 1368 and was completed in 1644.
