5. Yorkshire Pudding


These simple puddings are made from a batter of flour, eggs and milk. They are then roasted in an oven and often accompany roast beef. It is often claimed that this dish came around as a cheap way of filling up diners. It’s also said that it became popular because cooks wanted to make use of the hot fat that dripped into a dripping pan while meat roasted.
