3. Ray Chapman
Known for shortstop and bunting, Ray Chapman was a Major League baseball player. He is known to be the second player to have suffered death due to injuries caused during baseball game. He joined the League in 1912 and soon became the leader in walks as well as runs scored. When he died he was playing for Cleveland Naps against the Yankees. He had scored 97 runs when Carl Mays, the Yankees pitcher threw the ball which hit Chapman on the head. Though Chapman was immediately taken to the hospital but the great baseball player could not be saved and died after 12 hours.
