6. John Steinbeck
An American writer, John Steinbeck has to his credit the award winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath for which he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1939. He is known for his non-fiction books, novels and short stories that have inspired several writers. Steinbeck was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962 for his extraordinary contribution to literature.
