8. Mauna Loa – Hawaii
The Mount Loa comes under the category of one of the largest volcanoes in terms of area covered and volume. The volcano is located on the island of Hawaii with an approximate volume of 18,000 cubic miles. There have been regular eruptions in the volcano, the most recent ones being in the year 1984. Although the eruptions of the volcano are not very explosive, yet its lava causes much destruction due to its low viscosity which allows it to flow rapidly down the mountain.
