6. Ulawun – Papua New Guinea


One of the most dangerous and active volcanoes in the Papua New Guinea region, the smoke from the Ulawun can be in a satellite image. Since the 1700s there have been 22 eruptions many of which caused widespread death and destruction. There has been constant seismic activity seen in the volcano in the recent years. While these activities were quite high in 2008, the mountain finally erupted in 2010 with the ash emissions reaching a height of 3.7 km.
